The SAA 1027 IC is made by Philips
Semiconductors.
The connections to the motor are...

Each winding has a DC resistance of about 110 ohms.
- A suitable motor may have 5 or 6 wires. The wires which go to the +12v supply
are common in a 5 wire motor.
- The wiring can be worked out for a motor by measuring the resistance with
a meter.
- If the motor turns the wrong direction when driven by the IC, the connections
can be changed over (between Q1/Q2 and between Q3/Q4)
- With the circuit and motor used in this design, the torque of the motor
is 1300 gm-cms. This is much highter than necessary to power the Scotch mount,
so smaller motors could also be used.
